Blood Shackles by Rosemary A. Johns is an interesting read. It was unique and held my attention. It is the second book in the Rebel Vampires series. I had not read the first book which would have made this one a lot better I think. Even so I was able to understand what was going on. I would like to read the first one to see how everything started. It was interesting to read because a lot of the book was written in journal entries. I thought the author did a good job at depicting the relationship between the main characters.She also did a good job at showing the lengths Light would go to to keep his family safe. I want to read the next book in the series to see what happens. I think others would enjoy this book a more than I was able to. I would recommend reading the first one before doing so though. I love this genre and I am sure this this author will end up on my lists of favorites in the future.
