A Pawn for Malice
Blurb:
Does an ex-cop ever lose his "nose" for investigating? Freshmen Senator, Bryon Gallagher, certainly hasn't, when the love of his life, Jessica, is kidnapped by a mad man. No stone is left unturned, as he plays the role of senator by day and rogue detective by night, calling in favors and working his past snitches to the bone to find her. The only problem is, who does he focus his efforts on ... her deranged, former father-in-law who lusts after her, a crazed felon hell-bent on revenging the execution of his brother put to death under the Senator's newly passed Death Penalty Bill, or an unknown psycho, looking for his "moment of fame"? A Pawn for Malice is a thrilling, passionate, and suspenseful romance that entails, self-discovery, survival and a love that is so strong, it conquers the evil trappings of a criminal mind.
Review: 5 stars
A Pawn for Malice is an excellent read. It has romance, drama, and so much more. It is a fast paced thrilling read. I have not read this author before and it won't be the last time I do. It is Byron and Jessica's story. I liked Jessica's transformation throughout the story. She started out mousy and ended up being brave and standing up for what she wants and believes. I liked Byron too. He was a good guy. I liked that he took things at Jessica's pace. He didn't force himself on her. The two of them worked well together. Parts of the book made me laugh while others made me mad. Some of the secondary characters were creeps and very unlikable while others were sweet and endearing. I would highly recommend A Pawn for Malice to anyone who enjoy romance thrillers. It isn't for everyone due to some of the situations that come up but it is a page turner.
